Addresses to remember near the campsite
At the racecourse 300 meters away from the Atlantique Parc campsite, you can enjoy watching flat, trotting and steeplechase races from April to September.
Horse enthusiasts will be delighted, for, as well as the racecourse, there is the equestrian centre "Cheval autrement et Poneys découverte" opposite the campsite.
The Royan 18 hole golf course 4 km away and the 9 hole golf course at la Palmyre, with practice tees, golf academy, courses in the pine forest and a view of the ocean near the Club Med, complete the package.
The zoo is open all year round and is one of the largest in Europe with more than 1,600 animals living freely in large open spaces.
There are games, mini-golf, Youpiland and accrobranche at Parc Aventure amongst the pine trees in the town centre.
There is tennis, the Allée des Dunes in the pine forest and water sports : kite surfing, wake surfing, body boarding, in the bay de Bonne Anse and along the Côte Sauvage, with lessons and courses for all levels, and equipment hire… it’s all here !
La Palmyre is also a port and a launching quay, please contact the harbour master’s office for any further information.
For information on boats, jet skiing, or renting a mooring, please contact the Mairie. Here you will also find the Palmyre Atlantique Voile sailing school. With fishing, sea trips and visits to the Corduan lighthouse, there are plenty of interesting things to discover and do in this region.
